Rahul Rajiv Gandhi born 19 June 1970 is an Indian politician and a member of the Indian Parliament, who represents the constituency of Wayanad, Kerala in the Lok Sabha. He previously represented the constituency of Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

He is a member of the Indian National Congress and was the party president from December 2017 to July 2019. He is the chairperson of the Indian Youth Congress, the National Students Union of India and a trustee of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust. He is the son of the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi – Rahul Wiki

Bharat Jodo Yatra was a mass movement which was held by the political party Indian National Congress. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was orchestrating the movement by encouraging the party cadre and the public to walk from Kanyakumari at the southern tip of India to the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, a journey of 4,080 kilometres over almost 150 days.

Mahatma Gandhi Birthday

Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year on 2 October to mark the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and is one of the three national holidays of India. The UN General Assembly announced on 15 June 2007 that it adopted a resolution which declared that 2 October will be celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence as he was a non-violent freedom fighter.

He is also known as the “Father of The Nation” and this title was given to him by Subhas Chandra Bose for his relentless struggles for independence.

Born on 8th September 1887 at Pattamadai, South India. Later a Doctor in Malaya for 10 years. Renounced the world in 1923. Entered the holy order of Sannyasa in 1924. After twelve years of intense austerities Founded the Divine Life Society in 1936.

I have added this post as a tribute to my grandfather who regarded swami sivananda as a friend and guru. My father also liked his writings and philosophy.
