Born on 8th September 1887 at Pattamadai, South India. Later a Doctor in Malaya for 10 years. Renounced the world in 1923. Entered the holy order of Sannyasa in 1924. After twelve years of intense austerities Founded the Divine Life Society in 1936.

I have added this post as a tribute to my grandfather who regarded swami sivananda as a friend and guru. My father also liked his writings and philosophy.

The Divine Life Society has branches and members all over the world, belonging to all religions and nationalities.

Swami Vivekananda

Vivekananda told US companies should build factories in India so that Indians develop many skills. This was the start of the “Made in India” movement.

He was the first Indian to build awareness and knowledge of India in the West. He introduced the many concepts of Indian Yoga, Meditation and Vedic Literature.

He was Secular to his core and visited many churches in America. He even conducted classes to boost the oneness in religion, yoga and other areas of Indian intellect.

Ramakrishna Paramhansa

Sri Ramakrishna paramhansa was a Secular Guru, he used to explain about the oneness of all Religions. His teaching was for all humanity and not any particular religion, caste or community. He did not differentiate or discriminate.
